do you give us assistance who have already given us hope. Is it possible
that Ligarius should have no reason for hope, when I am allowed to approach
you even for the purpose of entreating mercy for another? Although the hope
which we entertain in this cause does not rest upon this oration of mine,
nor on the zeal of those who entreat you for Ligarius, intimate friends of
your own.
